Microsoft has unveiled its new Surface devices and up-to-date accessories. Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3, Surface Headphones 2 and Surface Earbuds have been available in the UK since May 12, 2020. The new devices at a glance.
In addition to successors to existing models, Microsoft also unveiled new accessories for the new Microsoft Surface. The Surface Earbuds have been available on the German market since 12 May 2020.
With the new Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3 and Surface Headphones 2, Microsoft aims to address new customer needs in the age of Home Office and Remote Work.
Private customers can order all models from the Microsoft Store or purchase them directly from a Surface reseller. Authorized resellers are the preferred point of contact for business customers.
Microsoft Surface Family: What we can look forward to
Microsoft offers its new Surface devices in different configurations. Private customers will be shipped to the device of their choice Windows 10 Home, corporate customers according to Windows 10 Pro.
In addition, companies benefit from service offerings, easy device replacement, and extensive security features.
Surface Go 2
The Surface Go 2* has a larger 10.5-inch pixel-sense touch display. Customers can choose between an eighth-generation Intel Core M processor or a Pentium Gold processor. The latter has an improved battery life of up to ten hours.
The lightweight and compressed design continues. For better video conferencing, Microsoft optimized image and sound quality: Dual-remote studio microphones and a five-megapixel front camera are now in use.
For mobile users, the Surface Go 2 is available as an LTE-Advanced variant. The Type Cover is available in platinum, black, poppy red or ice blue.
The device is for private customers from a price of 459 euros. The LTE Advanced version is available from 829 euros. Prices for business customers start at 509 euros on the Surface Go 2 and 879 euros for LTE-Advanced.
Surface Book 3
The new Surface Book 3* is up to 50 percent more powerful than its predecessor. It is equipped with the latest 10th generation Intel Core processors. Thus, it is intended for the professional user of demanding software.
According to Microsoft, the battery lasts for 17.5 hours. The Pixel Sense Touch display is available in 13.5 or 15 inches. Like its predecessors, users can use the Surface Book 3 as a laptop or as a tablet without a keyboard thanks to the separable screen.
When it came to graphics, buyers can choose from the Nvidia Geforce or Nvidia Quadro GPU. Up to 32 gigabytes of memory is built-in, as is the fastest SSD memory ever used in a Surface.
For private buyers, the Surface Book 3 with a 13.5-inch display is available in Germany from a price of 1,799 euros, the 15-inch version from 2,599 euros. Corporate customers have to pay for the 13.5-inch device from 1,899 euros, for the 15-inch device at least 2,699 euros.
Surface Headphones 2
Better sound quality and up to 20 hours of battery life: This is what Microsoft is promising to buyers of Surface Headphones 2*.
In addition, customers can look forward to more comfort thanks to the newly designed ear cups. These can even be rotated 180 degrees if you want to interrupt your listening pleasure for a short time.
The Surface Heaphones 2 are available in light grey and matt black. The price: 279.99 euros.
The new Surface Earbuds* can be operated with gestures using innovative touch sensors. This allows users to easily answer calls. Jumping to the next audio title can also be controlled by gesture without using your smartphone.
Just as handy: In conjunction with Microsoft 365, users now receive their own emails read aloud. Dictation via Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is also possible.
For this purpose, each headphone is equipped with two microphones. Up to eight hours of listening pleasure per charge is realistic. The battery lasts up to 24 hours when the battery is repeated charging in the wireless charging case.
In Germany, the Surface Earbuds are available for 219.99 euros.
Surface Dock 2
The new Surface Dock 2* will make faster charging possible via Fast Charging in the future. The dock also scores with a higher data transfer rate compared to its predecessor, as well as a variety of management options for enterprise IT.
Up to two 4K monitors can be connected at 60 Hertz via two USB Type-C ports. Two additional USB-Type-C and two USB-Type-A ports connect to accessories and storage media.
From May 26, 2020, the Surface Dock 2 will be available for €299.99.
Microsoft USB-C Travel Hub
With the USB-C Travel Hub*, users have many connectivity options available on the go. In this way, end devices can be connected to a network or connected to a display. Five connectivity options are integrated: USB-C, USB-A, VGA, Ethernet and HDMI.
The respective device is connected via USB-C cable and will be released on May 26, 2020 at a price of 109.99 euros.
